Borgogno Derthona Timorasso 2024 – Often called the “White Barolo”, Timorasso is one of Piedmont’s most exciting native grapes. Rich, structured and beautifully mineral, with layers of ripe pear, peach, white flowers and honey, balanced by vibrant freshness and a long, elegant finish. A serious Italian white with remarkable character and ageing potential.

Breeding: Guyot (5,000 vines per ha)
Production Area: Monleale and the hills around Tortona, Piedmont. Vineyards are situated approximately 250 metres above sea level, with south-west to south-east exposure and clay-limestone soils.
Harvest Period: End of September, harvested by hand
Vinification: The grapes undergo approximately 3 days of cold maceration in stainless steel, followed by static settling. Spontaneous fermentation then takes place in concrete tanks at approximately 17°C for 25 days.
Ageing: 10 months in stainless steel followed by 7 months of refinement in bottle
Alcohol: 14% vol.
Colour: Intense, clear yellow
Aroma: Complex and expressive, with aromas of pear and peach, acacia and hawthorn flowers, distinctive honey notes and a beautiful mineral character.
Taste: Dry, rich and beautifully structured, with a generous texture balanced by vibrant natural acidity. Powerful yet elegant, with excellent balance and a long, persistent finish.
Food Pairing: Excellent with rich fish dishes, anchovies, scallops, seafood, vitello tonnato, truffle dishes, tempura, battered vegetables and mature or blue cheeses.
