Description
Montepulciano is a red wine grape variety that is widely grown in central Italy, particularly in the regions of Abruzzo, Marche, and Molise. It should not be confused with Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, which is a famous Tuscan wine made primarily from Sangiovese grapes.
The Montepulciano grape is known for producing wines with deep color, medium to full body, and moderate to high tannins. The wines tend to be rich and flavorful, with notes of dark fruits such as blackberry, plum, and cherry. They often display a good balance between fruitiness, acidity, and structure.

Very pleasantly surprised, I have always like Montepluciano wines and had purchased previously the Amaranta which I love for its smoothness and body but wanted to find a little bit cheaper Montepulciano wine for everyday consumption. I thought this mixed case would provide a chance to compare wines from this region through a broad price perspective. The Passofino is very good value and I will be purchasing more along with, to a lesser extend, the Terre Dei Rumi. This is the first time I have used Sapori D’Italia and certainly won’t be the last, the staff are friendly, the online and delivery was easy.
This mixed case is highly recommended for anyone that wants to explore the wines of this great region.
