Bright black cherry and blackberry meet red rose, blood orange, juniper and dried flowers, with intriguing notes of Tuscan cigar and undergrowth. Altitude: Approximately 350 metres above sea level

Soil: Very hilly terrain with a sandy surface layer over rocky sandstone soils mixed with clay
Breeding: Spurred cordon
Planting Density: Approximately 4,500 vines per hectare
Harvest Period: Second half of September
Vinification: Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel vessels, followed by an extended maceration of 30–35 days. This long maceration helps develop the wine’s deep colour, concentrated flavours and structured tannins.
Ageing: Poggio Valente matures for 18 months in 500L and 600L tonneaux, with 50% new oak. This extended maturation adds complexity and structure while allowing the rich Sangiovese fruit to remain expressive..
Alcohol: 14% vol.

Colour: Bright ruby red.

Aroma: Complex and expressive, with red rose, black cherry, blood orange and blackberry. Notes of juniper berries, dried flowers, Tuscan cigar and undergrowth add further complexity.

Taste: Full-bodied and intense, with silky, dense tannins and excellent structure. The finish is long and persistent, with attractive notes of blackcurrant.

Serving Temperature: 18°C

Ageing Potential: Excellent. Its structure, acidity and refined tannins make it well suited to extended cellaring.
