Cusumano Winery is spearheaded by two brothers whose value of artistic excellence and passion for meticulous detail, have driven them to create a bright explosion of modern, innovative and dynamic wines. The two brothers run the operations closely with their father, Francesco Cusumano, and craft the wines with expert winemaker Mario Ronco. The wines are all estate grown and the family owns and operates more than 1,000 acres of vineyards located in different areas around Sicily. The grapes in this wine are grown in clay-based soil throughout the rolling hills of Presti e Pegni.

Profile: This Merlot is soft and silky on the palate, leaving warm flavours of plums, wild berries and liquorice.

Vinification: Destemming and cold maceration on the skins for 2 days at 41°F, fermentation at 79°- 82°F, pump-over and removal of the must. Malolactic fermentation in steel tanks and a period in contact with the fine lees for at least 5 months, followed by aging in the bottle.

Alc: 14.5%

Food Pairing: The spicy yet subtle flavours of this Merlot are appreciated most when paired with heavy pastas.
