Appellation: Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT

Grapes: 100% Teroldego

Production Area: Teroldego is a native grape of Trentino and has been cultivated in the region since ancient times. It is naturally rich in polyphenols and thrives in the sub-Mediterranean climate of the area. The grapes for Cantina La-Vis Teroldego grow on the gentle slopes of the Avisio Hills, around the Rotaliana Plain.

Exposure and Altitude: The vineyards face west and south-west at around 370 metres above sea level. This position provides excellent sunlight while helping the grapes maintain freshness and aromatic character.

Soil: The vineyards are planted on deep, structured loam soils with moderate fertility. These conditions suit Teroldego particularly well and help produce wines with generous fruit, depth and balanced structure.

Vineyard: The vines are trained using Guyot and the traditional simple Trentino pergola system. Planting density is approximately 5,000 vines per hectare.

Winemaking: The grapes are harvested by hand in early October. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. The wine then undergoes malolactic fermentation in reinforced concrete tanks. This careful approach preserves the distinctive fruit and varietal character of Teroldego.

Ageing: The wine remains on its lees for approximately 5–6 months in reinforced concrete tanks. A portion is also matured in second-use French oak barrels. The subtle oak influence adds complexity and texture without overpowering the fresh fruit.

Organoleptic Evaluation and Food Pairing: Deep ruby red in colour with an inviting aroma of violets. As the wine opens, notes of ripe plum and small forest fruits emerge. The palate is soft, rounded and generous, leading to a broad and persistent finish.

Excellent with pasta and rich meat sauces, including pappardelle with hare ragù. It also pairs beautifully with roasted meats such as pork loin, grilled red meats and mature cheeses.
