Braida Barbera d’Asti DOCG Bricco Dell’Uccellone 2015
Braida website – click here
Ageing Potential: 10-20 years
Area: Piemonte/ Piedmont
Appellation: Barbera d’Asti DOCG.
Grapes: Made with 100% Barbera grapes in the hills planted with vines owned in Rocchetta Tanaro.
In the Cellar: Temperature controlled maceration on skins lasts 20 days. The wine is then transferred to oak barrels where it ages for 12 months, before ageing for another 12 months in the bottle.
Full‐bodied yet elegant: the 2015 offers generous fruit richness combined with the brightness typical of Barbera (notably its lively acidity).
Texture: smooth, velvety tannins, good concentration and structure.
Flavor profile: dark cherry/blackberry fruit, hints of dark chocolate, balsamic undertones, smoky oak. The oak ageing (in French barriques) contributes depth and complexity.
Finish: long, persistent, with fruit, spice, and oak‐driven elements lingering.
