The Story of No Name: In 2008, one of Borgogno’s wines was initially rejected by the Barolo tasting commission. Borgogno submitted the same wine again and it was approved. As a playful protest against the complexities of Italian wine regulations, they chose to declassify the wine and release it as “No Name.” It has since become one of Borgogno’s most distinctive wines – a reminder that it’s not the name that makes the wine, but the wine that makes the name.
