Description
The wine here comes from the beautiful region of Apulia in southern Italy. The wine is produced mainly from Negroamaro, specifically 80%, the last 20% is Primitivo. The grapes for the wine are harvested from the end of September to the beginning of October, when the grapes have dried naturally on the vines and lost a large part of their liquid. It produces less juice, but more rich and aromatic juice. All the grapes for this wine are sorted manually before vinification begins, and finally the wine is left for 12 months in cement tanks before bottling.
The wine has a nice dark red color in the glass. Impressive aromas of dark berries, cherries and a touch of strawberry, as well as hints of spice, raisin and vanilla.
The taste is intense, packed with lots of fruit, it is soft and pleasant with intense fruit notes. Great fullness and ripe tannins, give an aftertaste that is persistent and with lots of exciting nuances. Super nicely tuned Appassimento.
Serve the wine at 17-18 degrees. Try it e.g. for the barbecue, simmered dishes, beef or the cheese board. The wine can also be enjoyed on its own without food.
